In order to reduce injuries to employees in the United States, and keep personal injury lawsuits to a minimum, the United States Department of Labor operates the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA for short. The mandate of OSHA is to protect citizens from the harmful behaviors of business, and enforcing regulations creating safe and healthy environments for workers.
